(My last post somehow got deleted, thanks WordPress.)
Snagged 46 QSOs on 20 meters today. Thank you so much to everyone that worked me, even snagged a few DX! Could only operate for about 2.5hrs today as the heat was really bearing down on me (and my radio!). Was nearing triple digit weather today, ugh.
Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge is truly a solitary and isolated place. South Padre Island was PACKED this weekend for Father’s day, but just a short 30 minute drive inland, you’re in heaven! I couldn’t get to the area close to the salt water, so I found a spot close to a freshwater lake with a pavilion called ‘Osprey Overlook’.
I have a short video forthcoming, as I’d like to promote the WWFF program within the U.S. Lots of folks were asking me what it was, but I was happy to explain. The noise floor was so low here I thought something was truly wrong with my 480sat! Park entrance fee was waived, woohoo!
All in all – a great success compared to my first WWFF attempt with QRP.
If you look closely above, you can see the wind turbines in the distance! My location:
Had quite a pile up going there, I think someone posted me on a DX Cluster, and I could definitely tell!
73 & once again a big thanks to all that worked me!
