N5OAK Amateur Radio Club Quarterly Meeting
A successful meeting of the Oak Hill Amateur Radio Club today! Met some new folks, talked about radios, and had a great time! It started to heat up quick so I snatched everyone up for this photo, thanks to KC1CMT for his awesome camera equipment! I’ve got to get a DSLR camera!
We discussed club finances, getting our DMR machine to the same site our current repeater is at using a diplexer (possibly), and solicited for the club secretary position which was open.
I’m hoping to visit the N5OAK repeater site soon, the club president KV5TX invited me to come out while they survey everything that we have access to at the repeater site. Really hope to get some great video of our awesome repeater, it has exceptional reach considering the rough hill country terrain around here. It truly is one of the furthest reaching repeaters that I know of in Central Texas and beyond!
I volunteered to develop a repeater list for the N5OAK website, so I’ll be busy doing that next week!
Next meeting is set for October 7, 2017 at the State Fireman’s & Fire Marshall’s Academy in Manchaca (10am). Welcome to any and all!
