Top 10 Spots for K5ACL this week on 30m

Well… I think its safe to say that adding a remote tuner to my home station gave me a bit of a boost so to speak. I don’t think I’ve had this good of a run with DX on WSPR in a long time – if ever actually – 88 spots to New Zealand? I usually get one or two of these on occasion. All with 200mW! 1,383 spots so far in only 3 days. (That’s how long I’ve found that my 20,000maH power pack is lasting, I thought it would last a bit longer, but I’m having to keep additional stuff plugged in just to keep it on).

Since the LDG RT-100 remains tuned in the last position that I transmitted with my radio, I just set it to 10.140, and tuned it using a CW tone (I’m not sure if the 200mW from the WSPRlite would be enough power to tune the RT-100, since I have no inline SWR meter, I just used my radio to tune it for that frequency).

Based on these results, I’m pretty happy with my remote tuner, I feel like I’ve got bigger ears and a bigger reach so to speak. Since I’m running the digital station at field day this year, I’ll be running the WSPRlite under the callsign N5OAK from start to finish on 30 meters. I’ll have it setup with my mag loop on display to try and get some folks interested in WSPR!
